This is the way I like to tie the Cinnamon Caddis. This fly represents one of the most abundant sedge patterns flying in Transylvania and beyond. You can find it throughout the Carpathian Mountains and in the Alps. As a result, it is a fly commonly encountered in Austria, Italy, Slovenia, as well as in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Personally, I prefer to tie it exclusively with CDC because I enjoy the waterprint effect it creates on the fly. Of course, for extremely fast waters, it can also be tied with a hackle, as many anglers prefer using rooster feathers. However, I will discuss the fast water versions at another time.
