Everyone ties the Cinnamon Caddis because it’s a popular fly in Europe. Countless models and methods to create this fly can be found on YouTube.
However, I have my own way of tying it because I prioritise three things:
- achieving a perfect waterprint
- ensuring good floating in the water
- making the fly without relying on pretentious and expensive materials.
I use only three CDC feathers, which provide an excellent a lifelike appearance, and the fantastic floating on the water is ensured by the use of kapok dubbing combined with CDC wings and legs. The CDC feathers offer perfect visibility regardless of the ambient lighting conditions (due to their natural volume and appearance)
