CDC emergers are a must-have in any fly fishermen arsenal due to their realistic appearance, excellent buoyancy, and versatility in mimicking emerging insects. I like to use curved hooks more often than straight hooks. Curved hooks provide a more natural and lifelike profile, which is especially important for emergers that need to imitate the shape of insects struggling to break through the water’s surface.
The model from today I called the beginner emerger and is probably the most efficient type from this range of flies.
