It is Autumn again and is time for dry fly fishing , especially with micro CDC flies and micro CDC emergers. I present you an emerger with CDC that floats excellently in any conditions. We all know that the CDC is quite sensitive and on fast waters it cannot sustain the fly for a long period of time.
But this model, thanks to the way the CDC is fixed, sits better on the water and has an excellent waterprint.
Materials:
- -Thread: Sumo Power 10DEN
- Hook Hanak H390 BL size #16
- Body made of Macaw biot ( blue-yellow)
- Emerger sack: Crystal body thread -A1
- Tail made of partridge
- Thorax is made of Troutline Ultra Dubbing color BUG1
- Legs made of partridge
Tying Tips: -Use the thinnest thread available to avoid overloading the fly. -Mix CDC barbs in different colors (light grey, dark grey, speckled) to create contrast. This will help you see the fly more clearly while fishing. -When securing the CDC on the hook shank, cut it at an angle to create a smoother, tapered body. Otherwise, the body will appear bulky with bumps. -For the wing, secure it with multiple wraps, as shown in the video. This will help the barbs stay balanced and nicely spread.
Any questions or any suggestions are more than welcome 🙂 Cheers and happy tying!
