Nothing special, a dubbed nymph ribbed with micro ribbing quill and hackle made of CDC. You will find similar models on the web but this one has a in his body a special dubbing which reflects UV light much better. It is said that fish can see very well in this spectrum. I did not study to find out if it is so or not, but it was not difficult for me to use this material. It didn’t cost me anything, in addition it looks good in normal light.
Materials:
- Hanak 480 Competition hook #16
- tungsten in black nickel in 3.3mm
- thread -black
- ribbing- uv orange micro ribbing quill
- body: uv attractor orange dubbing mixed with natural squirrel
- hackle: wild mallard cdc in dubbing loop
I use these new materials from Troutline shop: Micro ribbing quill and UV attractor dubbing. I don’t know if the fly will catch better, but I said I’d try and tie a few. Let’s see what can be done with the two new materials 🙂
In the UV light it looks really good and interesting:
