GRHE CDC dun fly tied by Peter is another great fly for grayling fishing. I discovered this fly fishing together with Peter around 20 years ago when I visited Slovakia and I fished on Vah river. The fly has a fantastic water-print and it is a great searching pattern.
This fly had something special, which I have not seen in other models made in those years: hackle made of fur. I have seen delicate flies in Poland but with a hackle made of one turn of hen or rooster feather, but not of fur. I was surprised by the approach and found it very interesting. Also at Peter’s I saw the combination of fur and cdc, a kind of sandwich hackle. Very interesting and efficient too 🙂
