It’s not complicated to guess, but I’m really curious how quickly the correct answer will come 🙂 It doesn’t matter the color, but exactly the source, the type of material.
cheers,
Lucian

Troutline dyed hare pelt (romanian rabbit)
October 9, 2023
yes the answer is rabbit! 🙂
I cut the fur from the pelt, then I separated the hair from the guardfur and I made the body thicker by using more guardfur. After all, rabbit hair also perfectly imitates the hair of hare.

Yes, very interesting, thanks for sharing the method. Is it the same rabbit as this one,Troutline Fly Tying Hare Pelt -Tanned. I bought this one from you 2-3 years ago and even then I thought it would be colored yellow or light olive. Soft and light for tying.

the piece of rabbit fur pelt can be seen here: https://www.troutline.ro/troutline-tanned-rabbit-pelt .The difference with Hare is that this type of rabbit hair is softer and finer. And the guard fur is not so thick and dense. But the pigmentation is almost identical.
